The TpT Exclusive deadline checklist
Premium ends on January 1, 2027. If you're a Premium seller, here's what to do before December 31, in order.
1. Decide: Exclusive or Basic
Exclusive pays 77.5% but you can't sell paid digital resources anywhere else. Basic pays 55% minus $0.30 per resource, and you can sell anywhere. Put your last 12 months into the calculator to see your break-even.
2. Back up your store, whichever you pick
- Download your Sales Reports and Product Statistics CSVs from the TpT dashboard.
- Make sure every product file (PDF, slides, source files) is saved outside TpT.
- Save your listings: titles, descriptions, prices, tags and images. TpT has no export, so copy them or use LessonCrate. Details in the backup guide.
3a. If you go Exclusive
- Opt in from your TpT dashboard by December 31, 2026.
- Remove paid digital teaching resources from Etsy, Payhip, Gumroad, Stan and your own checkout by January 1. Clip art, fonts, physical products, courses and Boom Cards can stay (full rules).
- Point "buy" buttons on your own website to TpT.
- Anything you give away free elsewhere can't also be sold on TpT, so check your freebies.
3b. If you go Basic
- Do nothing on TpT: you switch on January 1, the $29 fee is waived and you're refunded $5 per remaining Premium month.
- Pick a second store. The alternatives comparison shows fees and what you keep per sale.
- Move your best sellers first: guides for Shopify, Etsy and Payhip.
- Tell your email list and Pinterest followers where else they can buy.
4. Put the dates in your calendar
| Date | What happens |
|---|---|
| Now | Back up your store and run the numbers |
| Dec 31, 2026 | Last day for Premium sellers to opt in to Exclusive |
| Jan 1, 2027 | Premium ends. Exclusive rules apply; everyone else is Basic |
